Ephemeral (adj.): Short-lived, brief, temporary.

Ephemeral is a site specific project that explores the transitory nature around the grounds of Coombe Abbey Country Park that transforms seasonally, in comparison to the stable form of the formal gardens which has not altered since 1771. It investigates the juxtaposing notion of time, memory and form through the accumulation of archival content concerning Coombe Abbey and Billham’s responses to these. This work brings to light what some may pass by unnoticed and informs how seasons disorder the rhythm of the country parks historical environment and whilst form remains, traces are often left of what once was.
